Cretaquarium
Thalassocosmos-Aquarium, you can see many sea animals from the Mediterranean Sea, also sharks and giant turtles.
At the aquarium has several dozen basins with fish and other marine animals. The visitors stand amazed in front of the largest tank of the Crete aquarium. In the basin swim over 2 meters long sharks. We estimate that there are more than 100 species.
Zaros lake
The mountainous village of Zaros is known for its water springs and the famous Zaro's Table Water awarded as the BEST WATER OF THE WORLD for 2017. Here you’ll find Votomos Lake, one of the artificial lakes in Crete. Fine tavernas around, local trout is highly recommended, around the lake, there is a recreational area with tables and benches, an information board and signs everywhere. The local specialty is salmon and trout grilled over an open fire. Zaros is a small picturesque town of approximately 2000 inhabitants in the south slopes of Mount Psiloritis
Matala
Matala beach is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Crete and certainly the most famous beach. It is famous for the carved caves in the rocks and the hippies of the ‘70s. Matala there is a beautiful sandy beach, 300m long, with fine gravel and crystal clear deep water. Moreover, the seabed is quite rocky in some places (especially in the central part of the bach) and waves are common, due to frequent west winds.
