This is trip is certainly a "hidden gem" on the south side of Rethymno. This excursion includes the visit of the beaches of Damnoni, Preveli which are located in the southern part of Crete. The first stop is the Gorge of Kourtaliotis is one of the most spectacular natural attractions of Rethimno. As we go crossing the wild Kourtaliotis Gorge, we stop to see the magnificent waterfalls and the springs of the little river Preveli. The springs of Kourtaliotis, near the chapel, are one of the nicest attractions of the gorge. At the south end of the Kourtaliotis Gorge is located the Palm Beach Preveli, just at the mouth of the Preveli River. This place is unique because of its landscape.

Then we head to the sandy beach of Damnoni where a ship will take us in approximately thirty minutes to the famous Palm Beach Preveli. The unique beach in Preveli is an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. The river of Preveli leading to the beach has small streams and ponds. It is surrounded by high cliffs and a magical palm tree forest which was inhabited during the 70’ties by hippies from all over the world. And no wonder – the place invites to peace and harmony.

Damnoni beach
Damnoni beach where you can enjoy swimming in a really blue landscape. Damnoni is a popular touristic resort, very well developed and organized.
Damnoni is located at the exit of a large valley, protected by high mountains. The beach that stretches in front of the resort is a long bay with beautiful turquoise waters and coarse white sand. Here you will find all kind of services of a very well organized beach
